P.S. 193 Town Hall Virtual Safety Meeting


Please join us on Monday, January 31st for our Annual Town Hall Virtual Safety Meeting. Now more than ever, we need to be educated on how best keep ourselves, and our families, safe. At this meeting, we will have presenters from the 70th Precinct as well as from the Fire Department. We'll also be presenting on overall safety strategies for to prevent the spread of COVID.

email for access.

We hope everyone had a restful and enjoyable Winter Recess and are doing well. Below are a few reminders for the safety of us all:
 

COVID-19 PROTOCOLS


Before entering the school building, don't forget to fill in the Health Screening Tool. If families need a thermometer to check for a fever, please reach out to us in the main office.

Stay home if sick. At school, practice physical distancing, wear a face covering and keep hands clean. 
 

Feel free to print a paper questionnaire if the tool is not working. 


Families should consent to testing through the NYC Schools Account but can also request a paper form.

Please visit the Message to Families Page for updates from the chancellor and if you haven't yet, read the January 3rd notice detailing the latest updates to COVID-19 Health and Safety Policy.

MINIMIZE MORNING DELAYS/LINES

*Student ID Tags*
All students have received ID tags which must be worn every morning to allow our team to identify your child's placement quickly and efficiently.


KEEPING OUR STUDENTS SAFE

*Pick-up/Dismissal*
School begins at 8AM. No students will be allowed in the building beforehand. Please ensure that your child is not left outside unsupervised before 8AM and that you arrive before 2:15 PM during dismissal so that we do not have children waiting in the auditorium. Please be mindful of this schedule and make every effort to be on time.

 

PLEASE MAINTAIN SOCIAL DISTANCING WHEN DROPPING OFF AND PICKING UP YOUR CHILD(REN).

BREAKFAST IS GIVEN TO THE STUDENTS AS A GRAB & GO OPTION TO TAKE WITH THEM TO THEIR CLASS ROOMS. 


*Safety guidelines during arrival/dismissal*
Please be sure to stand behind the yellow lines during arrival and dismissal times. Crowding the entrance is dangerous for our students.

Please do not call your child off of a teachers line during dismissal. Teachers must identify parents before releasing students.

*Blue Cards*

All parents must also fill out the online blue cards that will be distributed by the teachers as soon as possible. Any and all persons, who will be picking up a student from the school, must be listed on the blue card before the person shows up at the school.  

COMMUNICATION

*Class Dojo*
Please make sure that you are checking your Dojo account for teacher communications and responding when requested. This is the main method of contact for the teachers.


KEEPING OUR CHILDREN HEALTHY

When sending snacks, especially for our 3k and Prek classes, please try and send healthy snacks/drinks. We encourage all of our parents to help us teach healthy habits starting early.

If your child is a picky eater, consider sending lunch with him/her so that we can ensure that they have a filling lunch.

We appreciate your cooperation with these requests as together we can provide a safe, accommodating, welcoming and healthy environment for our students.

Students should have access to their Google Classroom which is what we will use for all remote learning.

This is our primary source for mass electronic communication aside from the "Robo" calls that are sent out. If  you do not have access, you may be missing i information:

This account provides parent access to tons of student specific information including: Attendance records, report cards, IEP details, Emergency contacts and more...

Family Inquiry Form


If you have not done so already, we need your help. Family Income Forms (formerly the lunch form) are used to qualify us for Federal funding. Please, take a moment to help your child's school secure the funds that we need for programing and other important items.

All you need to do is take 5 minutes to fill out the form. Please help us reach our goal!!!

FREE MICROSOFT SOFTWARE THROUGH DOE

The DOE provides free Microsoft software to students and families. Visit the DOE Site for more information and instructions on how to download in all languages.
